Yb-doped KGW (Yb:KGW)is a premier gain medium for ultrafast laser systems, widely adopted in high-performance femtosecond and picosecond laser equipment. It possesses an ultra-broad gain bandwidth, extremely high 980 nm LD pump absorption cross-section, and minimal quantum defect, resulting in low heat generation and high conversion efficiency up to 87%. Benefiting from quasi-two-level energy structure, Yb:KGW eliminates up-conversion and excited-state absorption losses, delivering stable mode-locking operation and high energy storage capacity. It supports high-concentration doping without quenching and is perfectly suitable for thin-disk laser configurations.
Applications:
- Femtosecond/picosecond ultrafast lasers & regenerative amplifiers (ideal pump source for OPA/OPO systems)
- High-power thin-disk lasers for industrial ultra-precision micro-processing
- Biomedical imaging, multiphoton microscopy and optical comb systems
- Medical cosmetic and ophthalmic ultrafast laser devices
- Integrated laser-Raman composite light sources for compact system design
